I have to say that, although I understand that they aren't strictly speaking necessary, I enjoy the artistic accompaniments to worship - not just the auditory art of music, but also the visual arts of the stained glass windows, and the paraments and the vestments. Why else would God give us artistic souls, if He didn't mean for us to use them and incorporate them in all aspects of our lives?
Several years ago I wove a set of stoles for my former pastor, and for a long time I've wanted to add liturgical weaving as a product line for Belle Estoile. As a "beta test" I wove a stole for my current pastor. Here, almost at the end of Ordinary Time, are photos of Pastor Mary wearing the stole I made for her.
